Over a decade of dedication to life safety, incident stabilization, and property preservation forms the bedrock of Alexander J. Balla's leadership journey. Advancing from a capable interior structural firefighter into a first-in-class mental wellness specialist, he pivoted fireground operations into peer-led support systems targeting burnout, fatigue, and PTSD. Leveraging this front-line experience, he transitioned into an executive leader and developer of organization-level infrastructure.
Building on his emergency services foundation, Alexander brought his specialized skills to the Connecticut Military Department. Making history as the first chaplain to serve directly within the State Defense Force in over 150 years, he oversaw the mental health, emotional wellness, and personnel readiness of a 70+ member unit. In this role, he directed crisis intervention, emotional first aid, and operational stress control, designing critical frameworks to support state military and protect those in high-stakes environments.
Forged as a metrics-focused leader through his military commissioning, Alexander shifted his team-building expertise into the educational sector. As Site Supervisor for Housatonic Community College's security team, he orchestrated public safety and emergency preparedness operations, developed site-specific safety curricula, and achieved a commendable compliance rate. By transforming a struggling operation into a gem of the community college system, he earned an appointment as regional Field Training Officer, trusted to prepare new leaders for collegiate-level state contract work.
In 2025, Alexander was tapped to lead security operations for Medtronic’s premier 1M+ sq. ft. campus in North Haven, Connecticut. Managing a 30+ member force, he applies proprietary teambuilding methodologies and advanced technology to mitigate forward-facing liability, eliminate inefficiencies, and bring complex operations into a state of total stability. Building on a proven track record of success, he stands poised and ready for new challenges in executive leadership.
